Chypre 53 by Guerlain: launched in 1909. Created by Jacques Guerlain.




Fragrance Composition:

So what does it smell like? It is classified as a balsamic chypre fragrance with notes of aromatic Provencal herbs. 
  • Top notes: clove, cinnamon, lavender, bergamot
  • Middle notes: leather, animalic notes, ambergris, vanilla, ylang ylang, orris, rose, spicy notes, vetiver, patchouli, galbanum
  • Base notes: musk, jasmine, oakmoss and Tolu balsam

Presented in the Montre flacon (eau de cologne), quadrilobe flacon (parfum), Amphore flacon (parfum) and the Goutte flacon (eau de toilette)

Fate of the Fragrance:


I am not sure when it was discontinued, but it was still being sold in 1978.
