Vetiver Pour Elle c2004

Vetiver Pour Elle: created in 2004 by Jean-Paul Guerlain, exclusively for French retailer Aelia. as a limited edition in duty free shops.

The perfume was “pre-launched” in Aelia/AĆ©roports de Paris outlets at Paris Charles de Gaulle and Paris Orly airports, where it was available from 18 August to 30 September. From October onwards, it was rolled out to other Aelia travel retail locations, such as Nice and Lyon airports, and Eurostar Gare du Nord. To promote the launch, Aelia created special free-standing floor and counter-top merchandising units.

“We are very pleased to have been selected by Guerlain for this unique creation,” Aelia division manager perfumes and cosmetics Beatrice Delorme told The Moodie Report.

“We consider it to be a real achievement, made possible by our excellent partnership with the house of Guerlain....One of our key objectives is to always offer something different, both from the domestic market, and from other airports. Special activities such as this [exclusive fragrance] are an ideal way to achieve that.”

In June 2003, Aelia opened a Guerlain Institute landside at Paris Orly West.. The facility offers Guerlain products, and treatments that are tailor-made for travellers.

Fragrance Composition:

So what does it smell like? It is classified as a woody floral musk fragrance for women.
  • Top notes: orange, orange blossom, pink pepper and bergamot
  • Middle notes: jasmine, honeysuckle, nutmeg and lily-of-the-valley
  • Base notes: cedar, white musk, tonka bean and vetiver

Bottle:

The flacon features a frosted leaf motif, and is topped with Guerlain’s signature upside-down heart-shaped stopper, the Bouchon Coeur. The juice was colored a bright spring green hue.

The recommended travel retail price was €39 for a 50ml eau de toilette spray.

Fate of the Fragrance:

In 2007, Vetiver Pour Elle was reissued and joined Guerlain's Les Parisiennes line and was housed inside of the white bee bottle, retailing for $255 for the 4.2 oz eau de toilette. Unfortunately this fragrance has been discontinued.

Vetiver Pour Elle reappeared in 2015 as the limited edition fragrance Carmen Le Bolshoi, created especially for the Bolshoi Theatre in Russia.
