Eau de Guerlain: launched in 1973, in USA by 1974. Created by Jean Paul Guerlain.
I tested a vintage 1990s sample and it started off with citrus, mint and herbal notes, then the rose and jasmine became more prominent followed by a drydown of oakmoss, amber and musk.
Fragrance Composition:
So what does it smell like? It is classified as a classic citrus fragrance for women and men. It starts off with a citrusy fresh bergamot, lemon and basil top, followed by a fresh floral woody heart of jasmine and patchouli, resting on a mossy base.
- Top notes: fruit note, basil, bergamot, caraway, petitgrain, and lemon
- Middle notes: carnation, thyme, sandalwood, patchouli, lavender, jasmine, mint, and rose
- Base notes: amber, musk, oakmoss, and verbena
