Hello and welcome! Please understand that this website is not affiliated with Guerlain in any way, it is only a reference site for collectors and those who have enjoyed the classic fragrances of days gone by. All trademarks belong to their respective owners. The main objective of this website is to chronicle the 200+ year old history of the Guerlain fragrances and showcase the bottles and advertising used throughout the years. Let this site be your source for information on antique and vintage Guerlain perfumes. Another goal of this website is to show the present owners of the Guerlain company how much we miss many of the discontinued classics and hopefully, if they see that there is enough interest and demand, they will bring back these fragrances! I invite you to leave a comment below (for example: of why you liked the fragrance, describe the scent, time period or age you wore it, who gave it to you or on what occasion, what it smelled like to you, how it made you feel, any specific memories, what it reminded you of, maybe a relative wore it, or you remembered seeing the bottle on their vanity table), who knows, perhaps someone from the current Guerlain brand might see it. If you have any questions, please send all images of your bottle and pertinent information directly to me at cleopatrasboudoir@gmail.com. I will try to assist you the best I can.

L'Heure Bleue Anniversary Edition Box Set c2012

Limited edition box set featuring three new interpretations of L'Heure Bleue by Thierry Wasser, alongside a bottle of the regular Parfum. The blue velvet presentation case is decorated with silver pearl embroidery spelling the Guerlain name, an artwork by Lesage Atelier de Broderie. All four bottles are the 30 ml size.

The new interpretations are meant to symbolize the three parts of a day and night.
  • Morning - L’Aurore (Eau de Toilette)
  • Midday - Le Zénith (Eau de Parfum)
  • Midnight - Le Crépuscule (Parfum)
They are composed with orange blossom, orris, heliotrope, white musk and gourmand notes, clearly inspired by the original classic but with a luminous and modern twist. The boxed set retails for 3000 €. The Eau de Parfum version will come out as standard-priced Parisienne edition in 2013.

The three interpretations labels show clock hands, each one poised at the different times of the day.

Guerlain's Lotion Vegetale

Guerlain's Lotion Vegetale is a scented liquid hair groom to women,  as well as for men's heads and facial hair. The lotion vegetale was meant to give a lustrous, healthy finish and scent to the hair as well as making it soft. It was a watery, alcohol based (approximately 87° alcohol) hair tonic, usually mixed with glycerine and other components and available in several different fragrances.

Lotion vegetale was suggested to be used by women when curling their hair, if the ends of the hair are brittle. A woman was advised to pour a few drops into the palms of the hands and then rubbed onto the dry ends of the hair before rolling them in curlers. This would help make the ringlets soft and shining.

"Women apply Lotion Vegetale generously to the hair after a shampoo...to impart lasting scent and to stimulate the scalp. Men like it as an aftershave lotion and general grooming aid. In ten Guerlain fragrances: Liu, Shalimar, Vol de Nuit, L'Heure Bleue, Mitsouko, Jicky, Sous le Vent, Rue de la Paix, Vague Souvenir and Apres L'Ondee."

L'Heure Bleue by Guerlain c1912

L'Heure Bleue: (the blue hour) was created by Jacques Guerlain in 1912. Pronounced "LERR-BLUH." It was inspired by the most romantic time of the day, twilight, before the first stars appear in the sky, bluish dusk and anticipation of night.
