Hello and welcome! Please understand that this website is not affiliated with Guerlain in any way, it is only a reference page for collectors and those who have enjoyed the classic fragrances of days gone by.

The main objective of this website is to chronicle the history of the Guerlain fragrances and showcase the bottles and advertising used throughout the years.

However, one of the other goals of this website is to show the present owners of the Guerlain perfume company how much we miss the discontinued classics and hopefully, if they see that there is enough interest and demand, they will bring back these fragrances!

Please leave a comment below (for example: of why you liked the fragrance, describe the scent, time period or age you wore it, who gave it to you or what occasion, any specific memories, what it reminded you of, maybe a relative wore it, or you remembered seeing the bottle on their vanity table), who knows, perhaps someone from the current Guerlain brand might see it.

Champs Elysees by Guerlain c1996

Champs Elysees by Guerlain: launched in 1996 ,created by Jacques Guerlain and Jean-Paul Guerlain. The name was inspired by the 1904 Guerlain scent Parfum des Champs-Elysées, which has been discontinued for many years.

Fragrance Composition:

So what does it smell like? It is classified as a fruity floral fragrance for women.
  • Top notes are black currant, melon, almond, violet, peach and anise
  • Middle notes are mimosa, peony, lilac, hibiscus, lily-of-the-valley, rose and almond blossom
  • Base notes are sandalwood, benzoin, vanilla, cedar and almond

I tested a vintage 1990s sample and it started off with sharp aldehydes and pungent citrus, then the sweet jasmine, powdery mimosa and delicate rose became more prominent. It's dry down was soft with a blend of sandalwood and vanilla.

The success of the fragrance spawned a flanker scent named Champs Elysees Too Much..? in 2000, as a more intense, fresh summery version. It is classified as a floral green fragrance for women with a dominant mimosa note.

  • Top notes: Calabrian bergamot and mimosa
  • Middle notes: mimosa, lily and hyacinth
  • Base notes: jasmine, narcissus and benzoin
