The main objective of this website is to chronicle the 200+ year old history of the Guerlain fragrances and showcase the bottles and advertising used throughout the years. Jasmine/Jasmin by Guerlain: Originally created in the 19th century, but recreated by Jacques Guerlain in 1922.  







Jasmiralda c1912

Jasmiralda by Guerlain: created by Jacques Guerlain in 1912, launched in USA in 1917. Named after Victor Hugo's Esmeralda from Notre Dame de Paris.


Tsao-Ko by Guerlain c1879

Tsao-Ko: created by Jacques Guerlain in 1879, for women, named after a species of black cardamom.


Milade by Guerlain c2006

Milade: created in 2006 for the Russian Millionaire Fair, in honour of a Russian woman, sophisticated and elegant. Little is known about this very limited edition as it was not widely available.

Loin de Tout c1933

Loin de Tout (Away From it All): created in 1933 but Jacques Guerlain. The name evokes vacations.

Le Jardin de Mon Curé c1895

Le Jardin de Mon Curé: (the garden of my parish priest/my Father's Garden), created for women by Jacques Guerlain in 1895. It was made in memory of walks that Jacques was doing with his grandfather when he was a child.




Kadine by Guerlain c1911

Kadine by Guerlain: launched in 1911.

 In the Ottoman Empire, the Kadine means a woman in the harem of the Sultan, who was elevated to a wife, that is to say a "favorite". During a visit to the Topkapi Palace, Jacques Guerlain crosses the portrait of a Kadine. He was struck by her incredible beauty but is also said that she was endowed with an exceptional olfactory gift ... In homage to this history, he creates a perfume in her name in 1911. 


Atuana by Guerlain c1952

Atuana by Guerlain: Created in 1952 by Jacques Guerlain. This scent was crafted to honor the artist Gauguin's love of Tahiti. The name was inspired by the island of Atuona.


Dawamesk by Guerlain c1942

Dawamesk by Guerlain: originally named Kriss and created in 1942 by Jacques Guerlain. Renamed Dawamesk in 1945.

Coque D'Or by Guerlain c1937

Coque d’Or: (Golden Shell) created by Jacques Guerlain in 1937 and is a play on words named after the 1907 Rimsky-Korsakov opera, The Golden Cockerel (Le Coq D'Or).




Vere Novo by Guerlain c1895

Vere Novo: created in 1895 by Jacques Guerlain. The name "Vere Novo" (Latin for Spring) is derived from the Victor Hugo poem, also titled, Vere Novo.
